This is my attempt at some inspirational blog post that just makes the world a better place filled with cakes baked from rainbows and smiles (that’s right, I’m digging out the mean girls quotes).

Basically I just want to tell you that you’re awesome. You aren’t dumb, fat, unlovable, ugly, hideous, boring, plain, -insert derogatory word here-.
And I haven’t even met you in person before and I already know this, you know why? (Not because I hack your webcam and stalk you). Off topic for a sec but has anyone seen Abduction? Some spy-type people hacked his webcam and “observed” him, now it’s a secret little worry in the back of my mind. Very glad there’s no built in webcam in my laptop.
Back on topic, how do I know this? Because I do! I think everyone’s awesome (apart from serial killers and the like) I don’t look at someone and think “wow, he/she’s lyk ttlly uggz” I mean who does that? I used to be quite judgemental of people but now if that happens my inner righteous voice says “Shut up Zoe, don’t be a slut” (fyi, my friends & I use the word slut to describe anything mean/annoying/hard eg. sprinting up a hill is a slut).
I listen to this voice, all the time, seriously. It is always right, never failed me. I am very aware that I sound like a crazy person who has voices in her head (who doesn’t?) but what I’m trying to say is that you should like yourself! There’s no point not liking yourself. I’ve been there, it ain’t fun! It’s so much nicer to put on a dress and think “Reow, let’s hit the town you fox” instead of “Omg, I’m so fat and hideous and gross” and contrary to whatever random person as told you, you don’t have to be on magazine covers to think this about yourself!

I’m trying to keep the corniness to a minimum because although a dose of corny is good for everyone; too much corniness and it’s like watching a disney tv movie (sorry Selena, Bella, Emily, Miley, etc). Weirdness aside, I want to seriously say that it is really saddening that the number of anorexics, bulimics & so forth are on the rise.
And that conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder have arisen in the past decade or two because of people’s intense longing to have the body shape that we are told is ideal.
Everyone blames the media and that definitely doesn’t help, but you know what is worse? Normal people, people you might just see at the shops telling others that they are fat, or ugly or dumb. The other day I was looking at some article on Cosmopolitan and there was a picture of Christina Hendricks. Hands down I think she is gorgeous! And some random guy had the nerve to comment that she was fat and how he was so annoyed that “fat girls can be called curvy and feel good about themselves.” Are you kidding me?! This guy makes me want to go hulk! Also, in what world is Christina Hendricks fat? So not only is it the media, it’s people like this loser who are just driving this size zero thing home with so many girls.
Side note, but have you ever seen a size zero in the shops? I haven’t and I go shopping a lot. The smallest I’ve seen in New Zealand is a size 6, which is a US 4, UK 6 or Japan 7. Maybe it’s just New Zealand; but people say size zero I’m like dude, where is it then?
Personally I think that if a person’s weight is of no harm to their health, they do some form of exercise and have their 5+ a day then they have nothing to worry about!
